Over the past few years Futurecop! have done their level best to bring the ’80s kicking and screaming into the 21st century.
The duo have taken inspiration from childhood memories of 80′s teen movies, Michael J Fox, Nintendo and cartoons like Transformers or Thundercats. While results have not always been to my liking, there is no question that these 80′s fetishists have mastered the sound and imagery of the decade.
Futurecop! are to release a 13-track album, a mock-up movie soundtrack, entitled The Movie. ’Northern Lights’ is the first taste from the album. It is lively, stylish and slick, with an abundance of lavish synthesizers and power synth chords - exactly the kind of thing which they’re known for.
The Movie is out sometime in early 2012.
